Skills and Experience

I am a reliable and motivated worker with experience in the fields of communication, marketing and events management for over fifteen years. My skills include copywriting; photography, videography and editing; social networks; and events management including administration, finance and management. In my spare time I am a keen photographer, lead a running group and write comedy.

Bradford Cathedral

I manage the communications for the Cathedral including the website, social media, live streaming, press releases and media liaison. I support photography, videography and editing. I manage events including administration, finance, risk assessing, act liaison, event management, stock control, ticketing, casual staff / volunteer management and PRS submissions. I also manage one other member of staff.

  • Design and create web content and graphics, and manage an online shop; ensure SEO and device responsiveness is of a high quality
  • Work with third parties to ensure effective promotion of events, news and initiatives
  • Liaise with the media, in particular the BBC, The Telegraph and Argus, Yorkshire Post
  • Manage digital graphics internally and in the City Centre
  • Produce branding for sub-areas and maintain the brand identity
  • Design the regular what’s on booklet and other graphics, and liaise with printers for production
  • Manage the bookings system to generate income, both internally and through third party sites
  • Manage communication with customers via e-mail and social media messaging, and manage the business profile on Google MyBusiness, Google Search Console, TripAdvisor and LinkedIn
  • Produce a monthly analytics report and an annual update inc. finances
  • Support live-streaming including scheduled, graphics, operation and volunteer management
  • Work closely with many partners, including Braford Council, Diocese of Leeds, Association of English Cathedrals, Cathedral Music Trust

I have been a keen photographer for over 20 years. My strengths lie in the coverage of events, but I also shoot landscapes and more formal people shots.

They have also appeared in print in the Yorkshire Post, Telegraph and Argus, the York Press, and Ilkley Gazette. My photos have also been used by the Cathedral Music Trust and City of London Sinfonia, as well as local arts groups ‘Fettle and Fable’ and ‘Cecil Green Arts’

I have had a photo used in the Overgate Hospice calendar (2023) and York Against Cancer calendar (2024)

I have written one liners for radio, including on Newsjack (BBC Radio 4Xtra) and Breaking the News (BBC Radio Scotland).

Radio DJ

I have 15+ years of experience on student, hospital and commercial radio, and particularly enjoy outside broadcasts and live interviews.

Live DJ

I DJ, specialising in 60s – 00s with some more recent music.

Please note that I don’t currently DJ commercially, but play for friends. I use Virtual DJ.
